The Tiburon is no more !
July 2020 I chose to scrap the tiburon after removing all of the important engine parts and the ECU. The car was in great condition but I needed it gone ASAP and chose to take a loss. It had only 86,000 km on the clock.
A quick recap of what I did to the car. Automatic to manual transmission swap, stage 3 clutch, lightweight flywheel, ARP bolts, CP forged pistons, EMU standalone ECU, dual fuel rail, full 2.5 inch stainless exhaust, turbo + manifold, wideband, high-flow fuel pump, solid engine and transmission mounts, and probably some other stuff I forgot about. The car was running about 250 BHP and in the end had a really good tune once I limited boost to 1 bar. Sorry no videos, I didn't have a worthy video camera at the time. I really wish I could have kept the car, but I had no room for it.
Here are some final pictures before I let the car go. The transmission oil was like silver paint, that took some beating. The clutch and pistons were in amazing condition. The rod bearings took a lot of damage and wear, clearly a weak point. The head looked to be excellent along with the whole exhaust system. The solid engine mounts shook the car like crazy, a real bad idea. Overall the car had no body or chassis rust, it was in excellent condition.
